APRS - APRSISCE32 Software

APRSISCE/32 is an advanced Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) Client for Amateur Radio.  It is written for Windows (x86 and x64) and will also run on Linux and Mac OS under the WINE software bridge, as well as other virtual machines.

For Events, the software is used on a laptop connected to a Two-Meter radio or to the Internet in the Event's Communications Center.  Using a bike ride as an example, a rider will place a cell phone call to the Communications Center and state his/her need.  It might be a flat tire or broken chain, rider is off course and lost, and there ride was too much for the rider's ability and needs a pickup.  The Dispatch will then look at the APRSISCE display which shows the location of each support vehicle and their tactical call sign (Tactical call sign indicates their capability: Commercial SAG, support SAG, Rover, Rest Stop, etc.) and select the closest vehicle with the approximate capability and passes the need to that vehicle.  The vehicle then responds to that need.

APRSISCE/32 can be configured to connect directly to the APRS-IS via an internet connection, as well as connected to the APRS-RF network via software modems such as UZ7HO Sound Modem, Dire Wolf or AGWPE, using a TNC, or one of the APRS capable Radios including the Kenwood TH-D72 HT, the TM-D710 mobile, and the Yaesu FTM-350.
